Think you've got what it takes to be an ALT?

If you've read some of the pages on Genki English then you'll know how much fun teaching can be. But finding a decent job with employers who care can be quite difficult. But there is one company that I would definitely recommend, Altia Central. We've done training seminars for them before and the people in charge really do this for the right reasons, when they say they want to make a difference in kids' lives, they mean it!

So have a look at the job explanation below, and if you think you've got what it takes, fill out the application form and give it a go!

Be genki,

Richard

ALTIA CENTRAL

So you're finishing up your stint on the JET Program, but you're not ready to leave Japan and are wondering what's next? You're tired of the daily routine of Eikaiwa life and are looking for a new challenge and opportunity to expand your teaching experience? You have an interest in promoting cultural exchange and a positive impression of English and your culture with young Japanese students? If you're a native speaker of English then an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) position with ALTIA CENTRAL is your solution.

If you don't already know, the responsibilities of an ALT are more than just merely teaching International Understanding and English. ALTs are involved in the development of children - providing a good impression of English and foreign cultures today, in the hopes that it will give children the desire to develop their dreams of tomorrow.

Another area ALTs can make an impact is in the community. By becoming part of the community the ALT lives and teachers in and by participating in town festivals, activities and events, the ALT can also provide a good impression of foreigners and foreign culture to Japanese citizens.

The ALTIA CENTRAL Assistant Language Teacher Program provides ALTs to local towns, but picks up where other programs fall short. What separates the ALTIA CENTRAL Assistant Language Teacher Program from other programs providing the same service is that our service does not stop with just providing the ALT.

Through ALTIA CENTRAL's many years of experience in the field of English education and providing ALT's, we have been able to develop a system, which helps us recruit the best possible candidates for teaching in Japanese public schools and provide superior training, support and resources for the ALT. We also work hand-in-hand with our Japanese counterparts in developing the schools English language and International Understanding programs.

So, you're interested. You have some experience and/or are interest in Japan and the Japanese language. You feel you have the personal qualities to provide a positive impression. You would like some more detailed information. Where do you go from here?

We are currently looking for ALTs to be placed in Aichi, Mie, Gifu, Shizuoka, Hiroshima and Okayama prefectures.
