Alternative “What time is it?” Gestures

Doing a 3 day certified training course in Okinawa this weekend.  Teachers were good today, pretty much the standard first day “deer in the headlights” shock as they try teaching themselves (as opposed to just sitting in lectures!)   One group did come up with using the What time is it? 2 gestures with the What time is it Mr Wolf? song.  It actually worked really well and participating as a “student” myself it was both tricky and fun to do the switch over at 6 PM!

Check out the video to see what I mean!

P.S.  This is the first time this guy has taught ever – pretty good job eh!

Richard Graham

Hello, I'm Richard Graham. When I was a kid I found school to be sooooo boring... So I transformed my way of teaching. I listened to what the kids were really wanting to say and taught it in ways they really wanted to learn. The results were magical. Now I help teachers just like you teach amazing lessons and double your incomes!

Very interesting! I’m a new teacher and haven’t had a chance to check out all the material, but a good game to go along with this would be “What time is it Mr Wolf?” Every time the “Wolf” says an hour the others advance a step until it’s 12’oclock, “Dinertime” ! ! then the wolf runs and captures someone who become the new wolf.

My 3rd graders love this song too. Even the students that usually metaphorically require their teeth to be pulled in order to say things in English get into this song and game!
