This has to be one of the most popular Genki English songs, and it's great for ending a lesson on a high note!
It's easiest to get the kids singing along with the greetings parts first, and leaving the Seasons section until they are more confident.

As with all the songs, first of all teach the new words, then do the song a couple of times "a cappella" or with the Mini Lesson from the software gradually building up speed, and then have a go with the music and animation!

Gestures/Actions

1. The teacher sings "Thank you" along with the music.

2. The kids sing the line back during the pause.

3. During the seasons section, everyone does the actions, even if they don't all sing the words.

For "Summer" you are swimming,

for "Autumn" your fingers fall like leaves of a tree,

for "Winter" you're skiing and

for "Spring" you are a new plant growing out of the ground!

4. For the final verse, "Goodbye", everyone sings "Goodbye" together whilst waving their hands,

...they then clap 3 times in between each "Goodbye".

There's no game for this song as is designed for singing at the end of every lesson!

Very simple to teach (it takes me literally 5 minutes to teach!) and is great, great fun!

Worksheet:

Try making the Genki English 3D Thank you card! First of all colour in the card and write a message in the middle. Then cut out along the dotted lines (it might be an idea to cut these out beforehand with a knife if the kids are young) and fold along the "fold" lines. The Mr Monkey and Aygo parts should be stood out at the front. Stand the card on the mantle piece and enjoy!

You can find this song in the Teacher's Set.
