One of the big successes with the projects in India was the idea of asking English grandmothers to read books over Skype for the poorest kids in school.

It helped the kids (they got real English + a new virtual granny!) and it really helped the grannies as they found a whole new purpose & joy in life.

So, with over 70s being asked to physically isolate in the UK and worrying because of the loneliness, why not ask elderly but still genki relatives if they could possibly help you and the children out by reading a few books as part of your online classes?

Rather than being at home and feeling anxious, it’s a way they can help everyone and stay safe.

They get some joy and sunshine in a very difficult time.

The kids get some real English & a new virtual granny.

You get to take a bit of a rest during part of your lesson.

+ The parents working at home get a few minutes when the kids are fully occupied!

Spread the idea and let us know how you get on when you try it!

Hello, I'm Richard Graham. And when I was a kid I found school to be sooooo boring... So I transformed my way of teaching. I listened to what the kids were really wanting to say and taught it in ways they really wanted to learn. The results were magical. So I'm sharing it all with you now...
