25 years ago today I quit my teaching job to do Genki English full time! 

It was hard at first, traveling round the country in a friend’s 1975 VW camper van! 

We’d do shows for kids & workshops for teachers at every school we passed.

To update the website I had to jump out of the van and plug into real life telephone boxes!

Eventually the press & TV started to hear of Genki English … 

And I got invited to do workshops all over the world!

… and a TEDx talk …

Sometimes imposter syndrome set in. Then I got amazing words from Harvard or Oxford Unis! 😱

& the British Council licensed it around the world.

My aim has always been to make education FUN & get great results!

…and for some reason kids started loving it on Tik Tok and Youtube shorts! 

I’ve met some amazing teachers over the years. I am so thankful for the kind words they have said.

It’s been a crazy 25 years but we’ve got more to do so that every child in every country can get taught in a fun, Genki way & get amazing results.
