🀝How to integrate Genki English into your school curriculum?

There’s a great discussion over on the Facebook Group,Β

If Genki English gets students confidently speaking and reading in just 120 hours, how do you integrate this into your existing teaching?

It’s a little tricky if they’ve already been coming for you for a while, so let’s have a look at an imaginary “ideal” situation and build from there:

🍼 Birth to 2.5 years old:
They can’t speak, so although you could do Genki English if you really wanted, it’s much more efficient to focus on listening i.e. doing something else in English.Β  e.g. Baby Massage, Baby Yoga, Baby Sign Language etc.
.
πŸšΈπŸ‘΅ Beginners from 2Β½ years old to old age:

1) Do 120 hours Genki English first. Then Genki Phonics for the reading. Now they can speak and read. Graduate them.

2) Move on to what you’re passionate about according to your skills and interests. e.g. other subjects in English, creative writing, exam prep, projects, grammar terminology etc. etc. Lots of varied ideas.
.
I’d always start with this “ideal” then move to adapt it say for kids who already have experience with you or if you wanted to slow things down.

Does that make sense?

Hello, I'm Richard Graham. When I was a kid I found school to be sooooo boring... So I transformed my way of teaching. I listened to what the kids were really wanting to say and taught it in ways they really wanted to learn. The results were magical. Now I help teachers just like you teach amazing lessons and double your incomes!
