I first started teaching by putting up a card in the local supermarket. That was back when I was 16 and living in the UK. That’s all it took.
Then as people started asking me about how I taught and asking for workshops and seminars, I started Genki English by doing a free tour round every school in the country and getting the press to come along and write about it. They were more than happy as they are always looking for new things to write about! This was when I was 25 and living in Japan. ( It took a while!)
Since then we’ve gone on to help millions of teachers and students around the world.
But it all started in the middle of a recession in the year 2000 dot com crash. So now really is the time to start up your dream business, if you make it through the hard times you can thrive for decades to come!
