The Magic of “One Word Past Tense” Teaching

Now that students have Genki English at home, it opens up a whole host of new possibilities.

Just like a piano player, taking one lesson a week can be really limiting, but once you have a piano at home things can really take off.

So you don’t just save precious classroom time, it also means we can do a lot of really cool things with the software too.

One of these things that I find really magical is the idea of “one word past tense” lessons. Just like we did in the Summer Sports theme, the kids can learn the past tense with just one word.

Yep, really! I told you it was magic 🙂

And the best thing is, because they are learning it at home at their own speed, you don’t need any explanations, they just pick it up!

Then of course you use it in class.

Fantastic Genki English Teacher Marcin has come up with two more themes to simply flip to the past tense with just one (or maybe this time just two 🙂 ) new words.

The first one, for the pronouns song, is up now on the VIP Facebook Group.

UPDATE:  And the second one, we just got uploaded now – it’s in the VIP group waiting for you!

Richard Graham

Hello, I'm Richard Graham. When I was a kid I found school to be sooooo boring... So I transformed my way of teaching. I listened to what the kids were really wanting to say and taught it in ways they really wanted to learn. The results were magical. Now I help teachers just like you teach amazing lessons and double your incomes!
