Where is Baby Cat? Prepositions & Furniture Song

whereisbabycat

Margit’s comment that we now have 3 animal families, Baby Monkey Family, Baby Rabbit FamilyΒ and now the new “What’s your name?” kitten family, got me thinking about a song I did for the Kids English DVD & Picture Book seriesΒ calledΒ Where is Baby Cat? with furniture and prepositions.

The full DVD version (including a very cool animated cat!) is on theΒ Kids English DVDsΒ and I’ve just put up my original mp3 demo of the song on the VIP forum.

I think it might be useful for listening practice?

What do you think? Do let me know in the comments!

P.S. Β Whilst I wrote the song and picture book story, the graphics (which you can see at the top here) were done by Sugawara Keiko, one of the top Picture Book artists in Japan!

P.P.S. Β By the time you’re reading this I should be on a flight out of Kiev – I’ll have a full write up for you as soon as I get touched down!

Hello, I'm Richard Graham. When I was a kid I found school to be sooooo boring... So I transformed my way of teaching. I listened to what the kids were really wanting to say and taught it in ways they really wanted to learn. The results were magical. Now I help teachers just like you teach amazing lessons and double your incomes!

    I’d call it Kitty Cat!
And change the words in the song from”baby cat” to “Kitty Cat”
And maybe make it so that this one is a girl so that we have all 3rd person pronouns: “where is the spider”… Using “it”, “where is baby monkey” using “he” and kitty cat using ” she”
    What do you think?

Hi, Richard! I just turned your mp3 on and my daughter start to repeat “Where is my baby cat?” and even looked under the bed:))) here is your quick feedback from 2 years old kid!

Congratulations on the new (cat) family, Richard!

Most of my time in bookshops is spent in the Children’s Books section, so you can imagine how much I enjoyed looking at these! πŸ™‚ Great idea to work with different illustrators.

When I look at my own childrens’ books (which I enjoy at least as much as they do!) I think how much ESL learners would enjoy them, too, if they were simplified – and here it is, just what I was looking for! Thank you!
