May in Japan
May has the most National Holidays of any month in Japan. These holidays make up the Japanese "Golden Week", one of the most popular times for people to take time off, visit places and relax.May the 3rd is the "Constitution Day", which is often used as an occasion for people to discuss politics.
May the 4th is a sort of "Free Holiday"
May the 5th is "Children's Day". Traditionally it was "boy's day", and families with young sons, or grandsons, under 6 years of age, fly carp flags from their houses. They are also bought ornate Samurai like helmets, swords and bows and arrows to display.
