"You are liar!"
I hear this from junior high school students a lot. Despite the fact that
it should be "You are a liar", the problem is it that it just
sounds too strong. Even politicians get offended at being called liars!
Luckily most people usually use it to mean "冗談 でしょう?". So let's
use that instead, it's a much more friendly way of saying things i.e. "You're
joking!". Very nice.
We can even make use of the "うそ！ ＋『 ちょっと考える時間』 +でしょう？" that Japanese kids often say. We simply use the phrase "right?" at the end. You hear this all the time on American TV, right? Seriously, all the time! So the much cooler version of the phrase becomes:
You're joking, right?
(Actually I think this might be the coolest phrase in the series so far!)
