"I can do anything" by Richard Graham I can be anything. Anything at all! I can do anything. And you can do it too! I can be anything. Anything at all! I can do anything. And you can do it too! I can be a spaceman, flying out in space. Or I can be a baseball player, getting first base. Or I could be a piano player, playing all the night Or I could be a firefighter, saving peoplefs lives! I can be anything. Anything at all! I can do anything. And you can do it too! I can be anything. Anything at all! I can do anything. And you can do it too! I can be Prime Minister, running the country Or swim under the sea, with the fish and the dolphins. Or live in a castle, fighting the mighty dragon! Or I could be a wizard, casting a good spell. I can be anything. Anything at all! I can do anything. And you can do it too! I can be anything. Anything at all! I can do anything. And you can do it too! I can do anything. And you can do it too! |
This is by far and away my favourite theme. Throughout the filming of the
videos in LA, the phrases in the different songs kept cropping up time
& time again, but it was the chorus of this song that got everyone
through the project;
"I can be anything. Anything at all
I can do anything. And you can do it too!"
This is the most important part of what I want to get across with Genki
English, that kids ( and teachers of course!) are capable of so many amazing
things. This theme is designed to show them just that!
Game
As this theme is a bit special it's the only one without a game as I wasn't
concerned with any specific language to learn, but rather to get the the
kids to work out their imagination in the video and picture book.
Picture Book: "I can be anything"
Rather than a straight forward "What do you want to be when you grow
up?" theme with jobs and work, I wanted to give examples that show
kids can grow up to do or be anything. Hence we have things like swimming
under the sea with fish, doing magic, fighting dragons or working in a
chocolate factory. Once you've gone through the book, get the kids to think
of experiences and things they'd like to do, not just jobs they'd like
to be.
As with the other Kids English theme, once the kids have learnt the song
they can easily understand the picture book, even in one 45 minute lesson.
On the CD there are three recordings of the narration, chose the one according to the kids mood from "Parentese" ( really slow and clear), "Normal" or "Genki".
This theme is available in the Genki English "Kids English" set!
