Lesson Plan for German Teachers...
This is a great way to end a lesson with lots of happy smiles! It's very
simple to do, the teacher sings "Danke" and the kids repeat.
The kids pick this up really quickly. As with the other Genki German songs,
the key is to teach the song a capella first ( without the music ), then
introduce the mp3 after a few tries through to get the kids all excited
again.
For the first few lessons I only teach the "danke" and "auf
wiedersehen" parts. In the seasons section I just do the actions whilst
singing on my own. Then as time goes on the kids will start picking the
words up and you can explain what they mean.
It's always good to ask the kids what gestures to do, but here are some
examples:
For "Sommer" you are swimming,
for "Herbst" your fingers fall like leaves of a tree,
for "Winter" you're skiing and
for "Frühling" you are a new plant growing out of the ground!
For the final verse, "Auf Wiedersehen", everyone sings "Auf
Wiedersehen" together whilst waving their hands,
...they then clap 3 times in between each "Auf Wiedersehen".
I use this song at the end of the lessons, hence there isn't a game for
it. But if you have a look at the GenkiEnglish site there's a whole selection
of
classroom games you could use!
If you like this song, be sure to tell your friends!
