In the classroom or at home ........
The best thing about Genki English songs is that they get the kids to remember
the new vocab so easily and quickly. But this song is a bit different!!
Instead of being written in order to learn new vocab, it's basically a
fun review of "My name is...", numbers and parts of the body.
But just like all the other songs, it has a melody that will stay in your
head for ages!!
Hold out your fingers whilst counting, and touch the relevant body parts whilst singing.
Here you can see Virginie doing the song as part of a school presentation. Here she made it into a story of a unicorn who decided to travel all around the magic world. On the first day, she met an Octopus, a Spider and even an Alien!
After singing this song, try the "Monster Drawing Game"!
VIP members can check out the worksheet to go with the song.
Worksheet:
The worksheet from this song is based on the Genki English "Monster
Drawing Game". Each kid has a copy of the worksheet and the teacher
says things like "This alien has two heads". The kids hear this,
and as the monster already has one head, they have to draw another one!
If you have studied colours then you can say things like "This monster
has 4 blue legs and two green arms". Lots of fun!
