One of the most popular requests on the Monday Morning Coffee chats (every Monday morning VIP members get together for an hour’s video call to chat about teaching!) is for more Skits & Plays.
They are a really great way to join together different English themes, plus of course stories have always been one of the most powerful ways to learn.
And we’ve got lots of very “Genki” (fun, exciting and full of life!) ways to do this!
First up, there is a big list of skit & story ideas over on the old VIP Forum.
We have a few purpose made lessons that combine other lessons e.g. the Musicians of Bremen lesson that combines
- Are you OK?/My … hurts,
- Where are you going? and
- What do you want to do? into a story.
And also all the Genki English Picture Books can be performed as a skit or play too – the kids LOVE the endings! 🙂
The advantage of the Genki English Picture Books are that you only need to teach one lesson and the kids can do the whole thing!
The kids all have the narrated versions in their Genki English Online homework so they can hear the narrations to practice at home & get all the pronunciation right.
The lessons with Picture Books have the picture icon on the right of the lesson.
The narrated versions are also in the Teacher’s Set Superpack.
