Hello, I hope things are going great for you, and here are a few ideas
to make teaching even easier!
3 New Games
New games always come in handy and In July I was presenting a series of
professional development workshops in Surin, Thailand. Whilst I was there
I picked up these three new games:
When making
groups, assign names such as "Beautiful", "Cool, "Wonderful, "Fantastic",
"Amazing". You point to a student and say "You're beautiful", then to the next
one "You're cool" etc.
Then you can say things like "all the fantastic
people stand up", or ask people "Are you cool?" or "I think you're beautiful"
Great for self esteem building!
Fancy volunteering to teach in Thailand?
Teaching in Thailand is great, the people are so motivated, you should
really give it a go! If you fancy seeing how things are done in other countries,
why not volunteer to teach in Thai schools? They really appreciate any
time you can give and I'm sure you'll love it as well, check out this website
here: http://www.surinvolunteers.com/
For new JETs...
Welcome to Japan!! All the new teachers on the Japanese Government's JET
programme should have arrived by now, and of course if you're going to
be teaching in Elementary School (the best part of being a JET!) you need
to check out Genki English. There are a couple of useful articles in the
article/advice section of the site just for you;
