Apologies for another Japan themed post, but this song is coming to every other country pretty soon…

If you’re wondering what that song is that every single kid is singing every single minute of the day at the moment, it’s from the movie 『崖の上のポニョ』 “Gake no ue no Ponyo” (Ponyo on the cliff by the sea) by Ghibli studios. I just mention it because if you do have any kids not paying attention, just mention the song and all eyes will be on you!

Warning: Don’t press play unless you want the song in your head all week.

    Wow!
My daughter started singing this song this morning on her way to kindergarten; than I passed school where the first graders were singing and dancing this song with their teachers, and now I open the website and-there we go again. A Ponyo day?!

Anyway I really like it , and I loved the movie! One of the animations one may end up with silent tears (well-at least I did).

So, if some day there’s going to be an English version, please put in on this site as well to let us know.

  2. Hate this song!!!! AHHHH! Ponyo,Ponyo,… AHHHH Stop the madness!

Ponyo Ponyo Ponyo sakana no ko
    Aoi umi kara yatte kita

I like singing it. I saw the movie during the summer vacation.
They’re all practising for the sports carnival at my schools. At one school, the 3rd and 4th graders are doing a dance to it, and the Red Team have changed the words to it for there rallying song.
