Halloween Video + Newsletter

It’s newsletter day today and one of the things I wrote about is the new YouTube video of the Trick or Treat song.Β  It is very scary and I hope you enjoy it!Β  If you have any friends at home who like Halloween then please tell them about the video, it’s amazing how many teachers in the US are using Genki English this year!

More travel updates coming tomorrow ….

Haha, it’s somehow much scarier as a video. I think it’d make my first-graders (and wife!) cry. Definately in my top three GE songs!!

  2. Carol

The song is even better with the video!! Great!! πŸ™‚

My 13-year old son said it’s the best song you’ve ever done Richard. Praise indeed. I love it.

I love the vid. It is helpful in explaining to kids what the words means. Great to have a visual example! Booooo! Happy Halloween!

Question – are there paper-games for this theme (word search, domino’s etc etc) like there are for the other halloween one? Im doing a Halloween-mini-game party with everyone next week, so was just wondering!

Not yet…. I might be able to get some done, but don’t count on it…

Yeah, me too – this video is great! Really helps to get meaning across. Using the cards only, I had a bit of a problem with ‘gravy’. Not a food concept my 6th graders seemed to be familiar with!

But they LOVED the song. I wish I was seeing them again before Halloween – they’d really enjoy the video.

    Update!

Just played it to my son (2nd grader). He loved the zombie zucchini and the spider spaghetti and thought the eyes were horrible. All in all, a thumbs up. But not scary…..he says (wait till bedtime, I say!)

Now he’s wandering round the house singing ‘Trick or treat’ in a growly voice! A winner!
