In some countries students add extra sounds to the end of words (e.g. Korea or Japan)Β Β In some countries students miss the last sound off.Β Either way can lend to humorous misunderstandings.
Just now the waitress asked the table next to me “Are you finished?”
The reply was a confused face and “No,Β we’re Danish!”

One of the funniest words for me that I heard in Japan was the word “earth.” You said it is interesting how they had extra sounds or leave it out completely, but I also find how they substitute sounds, combine words, or shorten words all together very interesting and frustrating. However, it is still a fun thing to hear, I agree with you. “Save the γ’γΌγΉ!” ^^ Good times!
