You know I keep saying we have to completely change how we teach.   That if a teacher is even thinking about “grammar” or textbooks or any of that horribly outdated stuff then they might as well give up?

Well,  Elon Musk has beaten us to it.   He’s started his own school.

And from this year it’s online.   (You just missed the January deadline to apply.)

If you’re thinking “Ah, he’s some rich guy, he’s never going to replace teachers,”   that’s what the banks thought.

Paypal (he founded it) is now the biggest bank in the world.

It’s what the car companies thought.

Tesla (he’s the CEO) is now worth more than all the other car companies combined.

It’s what NASA and the Russian space agencies thought.

SpaceX (he’s the CEO again) now supplies the International Space Station.

Oh and yeah, he’s building a city on Mars.   And tunnels under LA.

So,  you still think he’s not going to shake up the education industry?

Or that teaching textbooks, grammar, or maybe even languages at all, is something that is even in the slightest bit applicable in 2021???
