It’s 24 years to the day since I quit my teaching job!

I hope you are having a wonderful July!

This time of year is always special for me because it marks the anniversary of leaving my full time teaching job and going full time with Genki English!  😳

It has been quite the roller coster, travelling through Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas, some amazing successes with amazing kids & teachers. Β Plus of course some quite disastrous times too!

I’ve never regretted it though. Β  Teaching full time can be an amazing thing, Β but being your own boss and taking charge of your own life is a freedom that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Usually the steps are:

  1. Employed – learn as much as you can from the best people you can find!
  2. Self employed – take everything you’ve learnt to now teach exactly how, when, where and for how much you want.
  3. Employ others – now it’s time to give back, training up new staff and teachers to continue your vision.
  4. Investor – at each step, invest the extra money so now you’re not just working because you have to. You can if you love it or not if you don’t. Β You now get to choose how to spend all that energy, time & freedom!

Where are you on the steps above?

Do let me know and hopefully I can help you move up and up and up so you too can make your vision of a wonderful future come true!

Be genki,

Richard

P.S. Β My vision? Β It’s to save kids from horrible boring lessons! Β What’s yours?
