This time of year is always special for me because it marks the anniversary of leaving my full time teaching job and going full time with Genki English! 😳
It has been quite the roller coster, travelling through Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas, some amazing successes with amazing kids & teachers. Plus of course some quite disastrous times too!
I’ve never regretted it though. Teaching full time can be an amazing thing, but being your own boss and taking charge of your own life is a freedom that I wouldn’t trade for anything.
Usually the steps are:
- Employed – learn as much as you can from the best people you can find!
- Self employed – take everything you’ve learnt to now teach exactly how, when, where and for how much you want.
- Employ others – now it’s time to give back, training up new staff and teachers to continue your vision.
- Investor – at each step, invest the extra money so now you’re not just working because you have to. You can if you love it or not if you don’t. You now get to choose how to spend all that energy, time & freedom!
