Saving 5 million children a year is easier than fixing the school system

I’m always surprised that some people still seem to believe we live in a world that’s not getting better.

Aside from the fact that most of us reading this now bathe in purified drinking water and can communicate with almost any person on the planet, humanity has also achieved other, almost superhuman, feats over the last few years.

For example the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has just published their latest annual letter.Β ( Well worth reading!)

One of the statistics in there is that in 1990 11 million children died in the world.

in 2016 it was less than half of that.

6 Million children saved. Β  Each year. Β Every year.

And that also helps with overpopulation.

That has to be something to celebrate. πŸ™‚

And the other thing that always surprises me is that amazing feats like this are easier than the seemingly simpler task of fixing our school systems.Β

But hey, Β one thing at a time, and it shows that those of us, that’s you too, Β in the education sector who are trying to make the change from “sit down, shut up!” to “Be Genki!” in education still have a battle to go.

Let’s keep going.

And let’s celebrate the amazing successes that humans are having right now πŸ™‚

Be genki,

Richard
