I just found out about Eric Herman on YouTube, and I just love his songs! The English is probably way too advanced for beginner learners, but they are so funny and 100% authentic. This is my favourite, the new pirate song….”Dude, that’s a pond!”
And here’s one that’s a touch simpler, if you’ve got some very bright students they might enjoy it!
I hope you liked those.
Oh, and could I ask another favour.ย If you like the blog, could you click the blue button below?ย The page is in Japanese but it casts a vote for the blog in the teachers’ group, I’m trying to get more of them involved!

Thanks,
Richard
Thanks Richard for these songs. They are really wonderful. The pirate song was more complicated but still very good for lots of vocabulary. Pirates are the big hit where I teach thanks to Johnny, Orlando and Kiera!!
I loved the second one with the child correcting the adult, most children love doing that!!
Those are pretty great. I doubt i could get any of my kids singing along within a lesson (or three) but still, i might play them the video anyway and just see how much English they can get!
@Julian-K: If you try them, let us know how you get on!
@Flossy: Yeah, I like that with the second one too, I thought it might give some ideas for lessons!
Great find Richard! Really cute. I think using the second song especially just to pick up words and get the gist is a good idea. Kids need to know that even if they won’t understand everything it’s ok and they can still pick up on alot. It’s a good skill to develop.
I’ve been subscribed to your newsletter for some time, but I hadn`t had the chance to explore your web and get the most of it. The second song is great, even for beginners.
Regards from Spain.
Hi Richard,
I love these songs. He has a great voice, easy to understand! I like the visuals too, love the animals gradually appearing then disappearing in the second one. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Richard, all what you display is really useful.
Blessings!
