As you know I spend a lot of time on my computer. With all the dust in India and Cambodia, it has been getting slower and slower, which means it’s been taking me longer and longer to get things out to you.
So with Windows 7 out last week I figured I’d pop along to the stores and buy a super new fast machine! Unfortunately… there aren’t any! I’ve been using the amazing Pansaonic Y5 Toughbook but the new version, besides looking horrible, has a lower screen spec!
All the other PCs are just really low spec or way too heavy to carry around everywhere. Where are the good, fast but small machines?
So I’m thinking about a Mac Book Pro again. Things have moved on since the last time I looked at them with Logic and Final Cut Studio being total bargains. But the machines themselves still have lots of problems, bugs and crashes. And there will be a lot of my files that I won’t be able to access, which could be a problem.
I do wish Apple, or anyone, would make a machine as brilliant as the iPhone, but for the time being should I just go for the Macbook pro? Or is there a better PC machine out there?
P.S. The reason I’ve been slow on email is that it’s taking me 3 days already to move all my email folders over to a new system ready for a new computer! I should be back up later today!
Thankyou so much for the lovely halloween stuff- so much fun. I especially like the Trick or Treat stickers but all my students were asking for a witch or a vampire. I decided to print off the Happy Halloween dominoe set onto sticker paper to play as usual but the best bit is that they can take home the pieces as stickers afterwards!!!
Happy Halloween from Spain to all you genki teachers!
I saw this in a magazine from the UK. I hope the price comes down quickly as it looks perfect for use in school or at home too. http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/tech_and_web/gadgets_and_gaming/article6882638.ece
There is also a lengthly article all about windows 7 which might be of interest to you Richard. http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/technology/article6884484.ece
Not being technically gifted I don’t really have much idea about these things, but a friend who does sent me this recently:
