What colour is Christmas?

This year rather than just use Christmas as an excuse to teach Christmas related English, I’ve also been looking at trying to use some Christmas magic to teach the English we normally teach but in a Christmassy, and hopefully more fun, way.

Here’s the first song, “What colour (or color if you prefer!) is Christmas?” it’s very slow and very Christmassy and the first version is fresh out of the oven for you to try now over on the members forum.

If you’re not a member yet, you can buy the Download Pack right up to Christmas Eve and you get to download it straight away! Enjoy.

Oooh! Great!! I’ve been using the xmas colouring sheets all week with my younger grades. The two themes together is definitely a winning combination!

With all these splendid Christmas songs you write Richard, you should put them all together to make a special Christmas collection CD!

Great! I also thought it would be great to have all these Christmas songs on one CD.
By the way, to prepare for the Gingerbread houses I played “What colour is…” having half of the class drawing and colouring a simple house>>each kids partner, sitting far away, had a house without colour and had to ask “What colour is your roof, …(I’m not sure what the games name is, but I found it years ago on this Site.) So far I’ve been doing it every year with Christmas trees and ornaments, so it was great to have a new thing to color+to build+to sing+to have a song for the colors!!!
    Thanks!

    Great minds think alike eh!

I’m thinking CD10 might be a “holiday special” with Trick or Treat, Apple Bobbing, Gingerbread House, Make a Snowman, What colour is Xmas, Happy New Year (coming to the members forum next week!) and I just need one more…..

Mind you CDs might not exist next year and you’ve all already got them on mp3!

    Richard…
    I know I’m a guy…but…will you marry me?
    Hahahah.

I love this Genki English stuff.
If you’re ever in Guam…I would love to have a beer with ya and discuss teaching English!

    This is an excellent site!

I like the idea of a holiday special. I hope you do still make CD’s as I always use the games, the wonderful graphics and the mini lesson too!

What do you have planned for CD9??

You said you need another song, would you consider an Easter song for older chidren ?

There wouldn’t be much point bringing these songs out on CD till late next year so (hopefully!) I’ll be able to make CD9 before then. No solid plans yet, but I’ll some mp3s up in the members forum early next year, hopefully!

Even if there weren’t any CDs I’d still do all the software with games, mini lessons etc. The software version of the download pack has luckily proved very popular.

Another Easter song is always a possibility. The only thing is that it always falls on holidays for me so I’ve never really taught it much. Rosebud made the suggestion for the current Easter theme, so any requests for language to include would be much appreciated!

@Dave, sorry, you ruled yourself out with the first line! πŸ™‚
