Just a minute! Why is there so writing there? Don’t you always tell us to NOT teach writing?
Well the answer is …. because it’s an advanced course 🙂
Speaking and fluency is always first, but as soon as students can already speak and listen and read well i.e. advanced or maybe intermediate, then it is time to use the power of writing.
After all writing is the superhuman power of Time Travel. ( Think about it 🙂
The period you don’t do writing is in the beginning.
(Just think of all the high schools around the world who do writing too early – and the results they get!)
So it’s a simple 1,2,3
- Speaking first ( with the Teacher’s Set) with the focus on getting everyone to be super confident speakers.
- After 100 lessons or so bring in phonics for the reading.
- Then move into the mechanics of writing
Then when you get into advanced classes we can really use that power of writing to transform your English level in just 30 days!
