Good ALTs use Genki English …

Here’s a video clip of a TV news report from last year highlighting the difference between ALTs ( Assistant Language Teachers – the generic term for foreign teachers of English in public schools in Japan) who are hired by the growing number of dispatch companies, compared with being directly hired by the schools or Boards of Educations.

The show has the usual TV trick of over dramatising a few select cases for shock value, but when they show the example of how things should  be done, the ALT is, of course, using Genki English! ; )
