As you know Genki English is used pretty much around the world, and today I’m heading off to start our latest project for ultra low income families in India. ย It is always fantastic to see the kids and teachers in these schools, they do such an amazing job!
Here’s a quick video of the previous project in Delhi, to give you some idea of what you support when you use Genki English:
I’ll be blogging, taking photos and hopefully videos for you, and these projects always lead to lots of great new ideas to share with you. ย e.g. the new Rabbit Family lesson was made for this project, and check out the videos of the Doctor, Doctor lesson!
It does mean I’ll be a little, OK very, slow on email replies for the next couple of weeks, but I will get back to you all. ย And of course the office is always open in Japan to send out Teacher’s Pack orders.
We have a Jolly Phonics trainer coming over for the phonics component & the University of Newcastle in the UK will be doing the evaluation of the students in both phonics and Genki English. Hopefully we’ll not only find more fantastic ways to make teaching English and phonics even easier, but we’ll be helping these kids get a much better future.
And if you want more, check out this TedX video of the types of work you’re helping with:
I’ll have some automated emails coming out with great content over the next week or so, please enjoy those. ย And keep on telling your friends about Genki English, because that’s what allows me to help in these communities.
And I’ll hopefully see you all back live in a couple of weeks!
Thank you for all your support.
Be genki,
Richard

Hi Richard,
It’s heartening and inspiring to see the work being done in India by you. Is there any curriculum specific to India in Genki english especially in learning phonics?
Thankyou,
We’re basically using the regular curriculum ( http://genkienglish.net/curriculum.htm ) but we’ve taken out some of the food/animal themes for religious reasons.
The phonics we’ve been using is Jolly Phonics, but I’m seriously considering changing this to Genki Phonics as it is so much easier to teach. I’ll have a post about this coming up soon!
this is amzing. I have been following since 2012. Its so cool that you have made it simple
