UPDATE:  Thank you very much to everyone who helped test the software!  The Beta Test is now closed, but the Vol 12 Software is now available for everyone to purchase.

=============================================

It’s that time when the real VIP Member Genki English fans out there help me  finish the final step of a long journey!

For today only, the vol. 12 software is now ready for beta testing!

What you get:

1. You get to have the vol. 12 software before anyone else.

2. You get to use it in your classes before anyone else

3. You don’t have to pay for it.

4. Unlike Microsoft who make you buy the product once the beta test is finished, if you make a comment on the blog you’ll be free to keep it as long as you like!

.
What I ask in return:

1. You play through all the songs, mini lessons & karaokes for every theme.  ( vol. 12 is * huge * so please only download if you have the time to go through everything!)

2. You play around with the “words”,  game and “words 2″ sections of each theme.

3.  Tell me on the blog if there are any mistakes/things that don’t work.

That’s it, really simple! It will probably take two hours or so to do.

At this stage it’s things like spelling mistakes, typing mistakes, buttons that make the wrong sound, crashes or buttons that don’t work type mistakes that I’m looking for i.e. real mistakes.

It’s unfortunately a little too late for things like changing lyrics, pictures etc.! Sorry!  Once you’ve gone through everything, setting kids loose on the software is always the best test!

Stress Free

Making the final master is always very, very stressful for me so if you could help by checking the themes and then posting your findings on the blog below (even if it just says “everything is OK!” although if you do have any words of praise that would also be great to hear !) it would really help me out and I’ll be able sign it off and get back to making the mini cards, printable games and maybe even picture books for the themes as well as lots of new stuff!

You can download the file from

UPDATE:   All the Beta Tests have all gone! Thank you very much to everyone who participated.

Please put all the comments on the blog here so it’s easier for me to follow and reply.  As usual, make a comment and you’re quite free to keep the software as a thank you!

Thank you so much!

Be genki,

Richard

P.S.  Get your download early,  I may have to close it down early if it crashes the other server too!  (I’d say we can probably hold around just a 100 people or so, but if you are receiving this message via email then most of those may have already gone!)

P.P.S. If you’re not a VIP member yet, if you buy your Download Pack right now you might still get your vol. 12 if you rush, rush, rush!

P.P.P.S.  I want to get this all finished by the end of today (Friday) if possible!

  1. Carol

    Hi Richard,

This is absolutely brillant! The songs are really great, the drawing is sooo cute! I LOVE the haunted house song and the spider song. The different voices are very nice and the deep voice is super for the haunted house.

It is also funny when the turkey thinks about being cooked!! A great song for Thanksgiving. Thank you! The Christmas tree song with the new vocab is so Christmasy and I love the kiss under the mistletoe…

I didn’t have any problems, nor did I see any typos. The games are worked well too. Bravo for a great job again!! 🙂

  2. Gumby

More great stuff Richard! I love the 3 different monsters. My students will be asking to see this one for sure.
The pictures are really a lot of fun in all of the songs!
And you have so much more with different versions of the same song. Very generous. (clever way to recycle “I want to be a”!)
I haven’t seen any typos yet. Still checking but here are a few comments. In the Gingerbread Man, a few questions about pronunciation. There is no “.” after “Mr” or a comma after the quote Hello Gingerbread Man. I don’t know if they are necessary, but I would include them.

OK more later, though it looks like you were very thorough.

  3. richard

@Carol: Thank you! Hope it cheered you up!

@Gumby: Wow, you sleep less than I do!!! The Gingerbread Comments are just the sort of thing I want to see, I’ll check them now (well at least when my caffeine kicks in!)

  4. Roy

Richard, The is truly another awesome package. I love it. I haven’t seen any typos after going through the games and mini lessons. My kids will love the “What do you want to be” song. Especially since Halloween is coming up.

    Thanks again
    Roy

  5. Jessica

I can’t find anything so far! It’s quite wonderful! On the song “Pirates with the coloured beards” it took me a while to figure out what you meant by “no fun”–I guess that just means that in the song you don’t pretend that Greenbeard’s beard is pink? 😛 (super cute, by the way)

  6. Miah

Another reliever for teachers and students from GE! What a nice set of topics usually “difficult/boring” to teach and learn! I liked the Gingerbread Man. I am sure from now and on my students will not only remember the story, but also enjoy it immensely.

Colours are fantastic as usual, my larger classes always look forward to seeing the GE flashcards and the pirates are incredible. I can see my noisy boys’ class getting excited and requesting the game again and again 🙂

Where is the spider is the first thing I would use, since prepositions are always a challenge, but this way, together with the spider it is going to be a lot painless.

Thank you, Richard for the tremendous job you are doing!

  7. Jessica

Just a nitpicky grammar point that you could ignore..

In the gingerbread stories, When someone says “Hello Gingerbread Man” there should be a comma after Man, like so: “Hello Gingerbread Man,”

Of course, having or not having a comma there will in no way affect the kids’ English abilities. 🙂

  8. richard

@Jessica: Thank you, these are the things I need to check – I’ve seen them so many times there could be question marks missing and I wouldn’t see them!

  9. Dan

This volume is very in-depth and it has been thoroughly developed by a great collaboration of teachers. The little touches make it special like the spider’s eyes, cute looking Frankenstein all tucked up in bed and Pirate Baby Monkey really go beyond previous volumes.
I’m worried that if I say it’s flawless then after a few weeks something might appear that was unseen at this time…however it’s flawless. I can’t find anything except it took me by chance to find the Gingerbread Man song. Has it always been that you click on the background character on the menu screen and an extra song pops up? Maybe a caption would be needed for people who don’t know that song exists. Apart from that thanks for the opportunity to be part of the testing process as always and also an extra thanks for making the job of decorating the Christmas Tree so dramatic. Usually I find it tiresome and tedious but not now!!!

  10. Ali

This is great work. Some difficult topics made fun through songs and games are just what I need to turn a class around.

Its amazing how much difference a song can make English learning so much easier. With more topics like these come more opportunities to use songs!

On a side note: I like the Beard Song. It’s kinda like a tongue-twister with many B’s in succession!

  11. Margit

    BRAVOOOOO!

    What can I say?
    Thank you and congratulations.

TAlking about commas, I’m not good in English punctuation, but there might be one missing in the Christmas decoration song, after the NO
    “No, thank you”.

Please let me know again how to add it to my download pack?!

  12. richard

    Thank you everyone!

@Margit: I’m working on the Download Pack menu upgrades now. Should be out this weekend.

  13. richard

Are there any more comma mistakes?

  14. Jessica

Okay, just in the Gingerbread Man section, here are the super unimportant (and, arguably, fine as-is) こまかい finds:

In the song, when the GBM meets someone, the other character (grandma, tiger, croc) says: “Hello Gingerbread man.” It should be, “Hello, Gingerbread Man.” It’s merely to keep continuity with the story (you didn’t capitalize man, and I’d put a comma after hello, because when you read it you pause ever so slightly).
When GBM replies, he says “Hello ~.” again without a comma after hello. It’s a personal choice, but just know that there is a pause when the story is read.
At other points in the song, Gingerbread Man says the other characters’ names without punctuation: Mr Tiger and they reply, “Yes?” but I would make it punctuated like so “Mr Tiger?” or even “Mr. Tiger?”
Also, the line “you can’t catch me” should have a comma at the end in every location.

In the story, you write “Oh, no, let’s run!” but in the song there is never a comma between Oh and no. That’s another point of preference I’d say, but maybe you’ll want to keep it uniform throughout the song and stories.

Sorry, I hope that all made sense…(?)

  15. Cathy

Everything looks great Richard. All the buttons worked, I didn’t find any glitches in the games, or see any typos. My kids are going to enjoy all of these songs very much. My personal favorite is the Pirates with the colored beards. It will be interesting to see which one has most appeal for the kids.
Thank you very much for letting us have it for free – you’re way too generous!

  16. Juliane

Richard, thank you for this new volume. It’s really genki and the kids will love it! They know the “What do you want to be”-song already but in the new context of coming up Halloween it’s a great repetition!!!
I know it’s too late for changes in the lyrics, but I noticed that the “6 toes” are missing in the mini lesson of “let’s make a monster”. – Anyway, that doesn’t really matter. Quite the contrary: teachers could use this and ask students for ideas, “What bodypart that we learned in the words-section wasn’t mentioned? Which number wasn’t mentioned?” I’m sure they’ll figure it out!
One suggestion for the future: Kids love games and competition – therefore I sometimes devide the class in several teams. One team after another comes in front and plays the game. We stop the watch and the winner is the fastest team. To avoid any fight about correct times, it would be great if there was a stopwatch within the software 😉

  17. julian

Just got this, and can’t wait to have a look at it later. I can’t imagine I’ll spot any other errors, but perhaps the ‘d’ in the link to ‘decorate the tree’ on the main menu should be capitalised, like the other titles. It seems churlish to point such a thing out when faced with such a wealth of fantastic materials. Sorry!

  18. Jessica

The only song without an capitalized letter is “decorate the tree.” Do you intend to leave only the first letter of the first word in most of the titles capitalized and leave the rest?

  19. Margit

    No comma but a period:
We are the pirates with the coloured beards(.)

  20. Margit

Oh dear!! _the spider is wearing shoes! How cute and thought through. As always, but i’m out of words.

Gaz, thanks 1000 times to you too.

  21. Jennifer

Fabulous – just in time to keep my kids busy before halloween! They spend the day singing the pirate and halloween songs – now we can add the spiders to that collection! Will try it out on them on Sunday and let you know how it goes! Thanks for another great addition!!!

  22. Glenn

I think the punctuation mark after Mr is a British vs. American thing (Brits usually leave it out and Americans put it in). I think either way would be fine as long as it’s consistent. In Japan the kids are exposed to American English more but since you’re British yourself I definitely don’t see a problem with writing it that way.

The only thing I’ve found so far is that the characters in the readme.txt are corrupted if I look on my Mac at home. If I open the file on the Windows computer at school there’s no problem. It could be my specific computer but I have Japanese language support installed and everything.

  23. Astrid Kahn

    This is really great.
The tiny spider is really ADORABLE!Maybe we should get the whole vocabulary in flashcard for the cup, lamp, wardrobe, etc, to teach the whole sentence “under the cup”, etc. No bugs found so far. The gingerbread man may be hard to figure out as a menu item though.
The pirates beard’s song will be a real pronunciation challenge for me, kind of a tongue twister there! Amazing work as usual, thank you Richard!

  24. Fantastico

Awsome. I love every bit of it. 1.We’re making skeleton soup (song) :it starts with a capital letter but there’s no full stop after skeleton soup.
2.If the diamond shape were a bit narrower it would be less confusing for the students here (Please don’t misunderstand. The one here is an excellent example. But it’s called something completely different here, so if it actually looked like a diamond maybe it’d help)
    Thank you so much!

  25. Darina Kocurova

    Richard,
I´ve found one mistake so far (still have 6 songs to check)… When you go to the game of the song “What are you thankful for?” it keeps asking the question but it doesn´t give you any answer – so you don´t know where you should click. Only after I clicked on every single picture and hit (by accident) also the right one, it started to give me answers too.
I´ll write more after I check the rest of the songs.

  26. Louise

Another amazing and fun-filled package – congratulations !

Apart from the comma and capital letter comments already posted by others, I couldn’t find any problems. The buttons all seem to work well.
Especially loved the traditional Gingerbread Man all jazzed up !
I did think The Gingerbread Man song was a little fast and in some of the song, the diction was a little unclear in places(e.g. the word ‘you’ sometimes sounds like ‘he’ or ‘she’.)
A fun way to incorporate very naturally CAN and CAN’T in lessons too.
Absolutely amazing work and I can say I am so grateful to have them for teaaching/support – all of your programmes have given me a lot of confidence in my teaching which I am still new at ! Thank you.

  27. Darina Kocurova

I got back to the Thanksgiving and it works now. At that time it didn´t want to “take” my answer when I clicked at the question. …hm… might be something wrong with my computer???

  28. Carla Chazottes

    Hello Richard,
This is just Genki!! It’s really super, I went through all the stuff and I just saw a picture not the same as the others: In the Christmas shape song, in the mini song when you sing I can see a square, the square is without holly?? But this is really not important I think it’s just a tiny remark. I saw no other problems. Everything WAS OK; I’ll try some of the songs next week in my classes, thanks a lot for all this.
    Carla

  29. missy

I loved testing out the vol 12 of Genki English. It’s full of silly entertainment for kids of all ages (adults, too!). Each lesson inspired me to match them with different games and/or crafts. For example; Pirate Beards- fruit basket like games/ beard crafts, Haunted- floor plans with hidden monsters/ Where‘s Waldo-like, Monster- dictation with making monsters, Skeleton- call and retrieve games, Thanksgiving- thankful posters, Xmas Tree- ornament crafts, Gingerbread Man- tag like game, Spider- hide and seek games, Vampire- charades like games/dress up/Halloween party, Xmas Shapes- I spy like games. And much much more!! The songs and pictures, like always are amusing and addictive. My 4 year-old native English speaker even got a laugh out of them. I think they’ll work great at improving my students’ English in a fun entertaining way.

  30. Darina Kocurova

All right… I´ve got through the whole Vol. 12… and I haven´t found any mistake (of course, taking into consideration that something might have escaped my notice)… and the songs? Yes! Yes! Yes! Perfect!
Pls, Richard, stop doing that :-)!!! I´m so jealous at you for being so creative! 🙂

  31. missy

And for my corrections…forgive me for being super “American” here:

Pirates: Maybe another with “Colored” vs. Coloured (but honestly either way is fine.)

Gingerbread Man: I love the two stories in the end, my only request would be to make one in an American accent, too. But then again, I could just mute it and read it myself. One of my fav. things about GE is the British accent, because it’s different from mine, it teaches my students both. So for the Aussies, Kiwis, Brits, etc. out there who want other accents too, it might be a good idea. Maybe even an extra silent version of one?? For the teachers or students to read to themselves???

***Oh! This might be a biggie, there was no link to the Gingerbread Man on the Main Menu, that I could find. Am I wrong?

    Haunted House:
Again with the annoying request for American English, “garage” pronunciation is pretty different vs. the British accent. I noticed some of the other rooms have the American guy’s voice, but not “garage.” Maybe that’s on purpose because they do sound so different?? I don’t know.

What do you want to be for Halloween:
For the “words” one of the voices (yours, I think) says “A superhero” vs. just “superhero” one time. I don’t know if that is on purpose or not. Not really a big deal, but I noticed it, so I though I should mention it.

That’s all I could find. Thanks again!

  32. kolinda

Dear Richard, I am speechless!!!! It is simple GREAT! I found the same thing as Carla did, but as she has already said it is not important! Thanks!!!!!!
    Kolinda

  33. Suzanne

Wow. Well done. All the songs are fun but I especially like Skeleton Soup because it covers several different teaching points – body parts, plurals, and negatives, in addition to the other phrases.

I agree with earlier comments about some changes in punctuation in the Gingerbread Man song. I found that lesson by accident too. Can you add a title and/or song sample when the mouse rolls over it? In the Thanksgiving lesson (Song, Song2, and Karaoke), “world” should not be capitalized in the sentence, “I’m thankful for everything in the world!” And finally, in the Shapes lesson, there is a period at the end of “The shapes on the Christmas tree.” But that is not actually a complete sentence. Could the period be changed to a “…” or ” – “? Well, that’s all from me. I apologize if these comments are too nit-picky. You are very clever and creative.

  34. Marina

    Richard, you are a genius!
The haunted house song is so catchy!Thank you!

  35. Aileen

I did not find anything wrong with the Genki English (GE) Vol. 12 for Beta Testing. Richard and his GE team have done it again! Excellent job! This volume is as funny and educational as the other volumes. Thank you for enriching my lessons and keep up the good work!

  36. sussie

Richard, it’s been said by others but this volume is amazing! Absolutely wonderful and so much fun, the kids loved it! Especially pirates coloured beards and spider prepositions.
The only typo I noticed was on the menu, in the Christmas tree song title the “Let’s” is missing so it only says “decorate the tree”.
For the rest everything seems to work, I had the kids test the games as well and we found no mistakes whatsoever.
    Wonderful job (as usual)!
    Susanne

  37. Betty Ann

Hi Richard! Fantastic….I love it. What a great CD.
I already have two favorites: Pirates and Gingerbreadman. Your CD´s should be used in all schools…the kids love Genki English. So do I…..
Thank you so much for all of your great work and effort! -Betty

  38. Melinda

Dear Richard, thanks for this.I think you have really put a lot of effort into producing a FUNKY and crazy teaching material (like the “monster” or the “skeleton soup” song). And AT LAST!!!!!!! The picture book for the g.man has gone digital!!! WOW!! This is enormous help for teachers like me who possess hundreds of flashcards, handouts, story cards etc. But I would strongly recommend adding a pause button on the pages as well so that students could repeat sentences or phrases(e.g. when practising the story before acting it out). Also, could I possibly suggest writing the name of the song on gingerbread man’s forehead, perhaps? I agree with Dan in that it is not evident that there is a song there,as the big picture looks rather like an illustration.
I also liked the subtitles in the mini lessons-they have been improved a lot.
I found 1 error when going through the songs:Game 2 in the SHAPES song does not work properly at all-the “start” button does not come up at the beginning and even when clicking on a right picture it says “NO!”
Oh, and one more thing, in the “Coloured Beards” song the menu says GAME 1 but where is the other game button? Of course it is not a big mistake it is just I think my students will keep asking this question all the time…

  39. Lines

Thank you for helping us to be better teacher using your wonderful, funny and great songs and materials. I love everyone I could listen, because, I’m sorry but three of them haven’t got song: Where is the spider?, Let´s make a monster and Who is in the Hounted house.
Richard I would like to have something about school things ( pencil, rubber, ruler, crayons, pencil case, schoolbag, pendil sharpener…)
My pupils don’t like my songs, they love yours, so… I’m sorry, but I need one about school things for my youngest students.
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH

  40. Eva

Dear Richard, This is absolutely amazing! I loved it.. Cool characters, bright colours, catchy songs.. This is what kids need.. Can’t wait to try them in class.. What I noticed was that in Coloured Beards mini lesson it doesn’t go through all the colours, only red, blue, brown, and green.. I don’t know if that’s on purpose.. Also, if you go into a lesson and you want to quit, the second time it asks you “are you sure you want to quit?” and you press ‘yes’, it doesn’t let you… That’s all..LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! Thank you. Éva

  41. adryardeu

    it’s wonderful. Thank you Richard.

  42. Machiko

All the songs are excellent and games interesting and stimulating!
My 7-year-old son especially likes Coloured Beards song very much. He was so excited to find out that it’s actually Baby Monkey.
With regard to `Game 1` button on the Coloured Beards, I thought it would be better to change to `Game` if it doesn’t have Game 2.
    Thank you!!

  43. Evelyn

    Dear Richard
Thank you for this great CD and thanks for letting us be part of the testing process! From what I have seen everything is working fine and I haven’t found anything wrong. With Halloween and Xmas coming up I’m really going to enjoy teaching your songs. Congratulations !
    Evelyn

  44. Evelyn

    Dear Richard
I have just sent you my comments on CD12 and have read Lines’ request about school things. If you need
other ideas for your next CD, how about these :
    – A day in the country
    – A day in town
    – Visiting London
    – Visiting New York
    – A fancy-dress party
    – My bedroom
    – Helping with the housework etc..
    Thanks again !
    Evelyn

  45. mariasoledadurquillo

Fantástico como siempre, me encanta mucho Genki English, amo Genki English

  46. richard

    @ mariasoledadurquillo: Muchas gracias!

  47. richard

@Evelyn: Nooooooo, I don’t want to even think about any more songs !!!! 🙂 (Actually thanks for the suggestions & have a look here for the latest ones http://genkienglish.net/clipart/forum/viewforum.php?f=3 Some of these vol. 12 songs took 2 years from first demos to the finished tested product!)

  48. richard

@Machiko: Ah yes, the 1 should really go. Thank you!

  49. richard

@Eva: Yeah, I figured the colours were repeated enough in the song to not need them all in the mini lesson. Good pick up though! Are you on a Mac with the Quit problem?

  50. richard

@Lines: This sounds like a big problem! All the themes have songs! What happens when you press the song button?

  51. richard

@Melinda: Ah yes the Shapes Game 2 can only be played by kids! Let them have a go and you’ll see! 🙂

  52. richard

@Missy: The US “Garage” is also there – it’s very scary!!

  53. richard

@Darina: In that theme the question is actually one of the answers! I actually want to do that in more of the games!

  54. richard

@Fantastico: That’s the Rhombus vs. Diamond confusion yes?

  55. dan burgess

    Hi Richard,
Just back from Vacation. So disappointed that I missed out on the beta testing. . . I’m part of the VIP member group and have all the others. Hope you’ll let us late-comers get this one at a good price.

    Dan from Quebec.

  56. richard

@Dan: I will indeed try! And I’ll also try and figure out a fairer way of doing beta tests in the future, I had so many people apply!

  57. Julia

    Dear Richard!

Thank you and your team for this wonderfull and thorough work. You did it having in mind many things including the one which is cold cultural backgrounds, didn’t you? I’ll explain: Helloween isn’t so widely celebrated in Russia, and our parents are not always happy when their kids watch horror films (even cartoons about monsters or ghosts). That is why it was a grate concern for me as I started watching “Sceleton soup” whether I’ll take the song for my kids. But my opinion has changed as soon as the second part has started. That was a great idea: escaping from the monster with the help of polite questions :))

A separate thank you for the festive colours and songs’ arrangement!

  58. Luke

    Hi Richard

Thanks so much for your hard work and all your efforts. You have produced another fantastic edition of Genki english and I am proud to be one of the first to try it out. I didn’t find any mistakes on my run through it all looks and sounds great.

I used some of the older Halloween songs last year and they went down amazingly well. Its fanstastic that I will now have new material to try out this year.

    Thanks again,

    Luke

  59. Nena

    Dear Richard,
    Awesome work!
I managed to download it…though I almost lost it, my computer sent the zip file straight into the waste basket..don’t know why??? But I got it.
I had a quick run through the various themes and found them adorable…I need to sit down with a little time to check everything carefully though so many other teachers have already found the mistakes.
I just love the “where is the spider” one.!
    Thanks again for your generosity!
    Nena

  60. richard

    Thank you!

I’m hoping to get the Download version on sale on Monday, and then the CD version to the factory by Tuesday, so any other feedback before then would be great!

  61. Keith

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for the hard work on volume 12. I hope my comments aren’t too late. First off, the new one is awesome. I especially love the Coloured Beards song and the Skeleton Soup song. The Skeleton Soup song is so great for teaching singular and plurals and the negative. Terrific!

As for suggestions for improvement, I agree with others that said to add a more obvious link to the Gingerbread Song. I had the same trouble with I’m a Superhero on volume 9 even though it’s so big, so maybe I’m just a bit dense. I also noticed that shapes was the only title not capitalized once you click from the main screen. Another thing I’m wondering about is the choice of cross for the shapes game. Being a relative newcomer to Genki, I want to ask if it is taught in any song or if it’s just an extra in the game. If they haven’t encountered it before, the students might not know what it is.

Thanks again for your excellent product!

  62. Bob

    Richard,
Awesome! We all really appreaciate the hard work.

I’ve been through it a couple of times now and scanned to blog. I too noticed some puncuation inconsistancies in Gingerbread man. The “.” after “Mr” has been mentioned before, but (and this is VERY minor) in the song you have “Oh, no! Grandma’ but in the story book you have ‘Oh, no, Grandma’…nit-picky, I know…but for consistancy sake, you might want to put an “!” in the story book.

Other than that, I haven’t found anything to mention (Ameriacn spelling maybe???) 😉

I love the 3 different monster options (great for review!). The turkey worried about becoming dinner…Genius! The skeleton stopping the cook!!! I don’t know where you come up with this stuff, I just hope you never stop!

Thanks for letting me tag along. I’m 3 weeks into running my school now and LUV’N every minute of it!

    Many, many thanks!

  63. Nena

Ok, I finally goto go through CD12.
Besides the punctuation (comas and periods) previously mentioned I didn’t see anything wrong! All the buttons worked just fine!
My favorites : Hunted house and where’s the spider?
    Thanks again!
    Nena

  64. Mark

All good GE! Great themes for the holidays ahead. The Halloween songs that replay from previous GE works will be an easy sale for the younger grade classes. Didn’t see and glitches! Ready for the production line!
    Thanks!!!!!!!!!

The songs are great!!!!! You always have great ideas. Thank you for giving us a hand in teaching students. My students love your songs and they can not wait new songs. Keep going like this and give the best as usual.

Thank-you! There is so much good stuff on CD 12. I looked over it with my teenage brother, and he laughed hysterically! My favorite theme is the gingerbread man. It’s hilarious when the crocodile appears out of nowhere and eats the gingerbread man. I also appreciate that it’s a real English story, with a more genuine variety of sentences! That is great for more slightly more advanced kids.

I found 2 minor mistakes that other people have not brought up yet. In the Christmas Shapes theme, the tree in the mini lesson has a missing circle in the bottom left corner. Of course, that won’t have an effect on the kids’ English ability.

There is a slightly more serious mistake on the “I want to be a…” theme. In the words section, the “a” in the “I want to be a” is pronounced wrong. It is pronounced like the letter “a,” when it should be more like “uh.” It is pronounced correctly in the song.

In the christmas shapes theme, there was a memory game in which a student tries to remember the order of four shapes. I know that it is too late to change this game on CD 12, but I have a suggestion for you if you make a similar game in the future. Right now, it is kind of slow paced. It was more difficult for me to find the will to keep playing than it was for me to remember the order of the shapes. Please consider increasing the number of shapes that the computer tells you as you progress. Perhaps the computer could give you shapes one at a time for the first five shapes, then start giving you two shapes at a time. After five more rounds, the computer could give you three more shapes at a time. I know that memory games make up a very, very small part of Genki English awesomeness, and so this is far from critical.

I love it. At first I thought there was a defect in the Where is the spider? Game as an identical first question was being asked over and over. But I reopened the zip folder, and it was fine. These songs are extremely timely. Good job! I will definitely use this volume a lot.
