Whenever I talk with English teachers, there’s always a point where they feel conflicted between earning more from their teaching and wanting to help more students.
They feel if they charge too much, they won’t be able to help the right people.
Have you ever felt that way?
Some teachers try and overcome this by charging the lowest fees they possibly can and end up running themselves into the ground, unable to pay all the bills and with a constant feeling of being burnt out.
Please don’t do that! 🙏
Luckily there is another way.
It’s a bit more tricky, but you do it with building different “brands.” 💫
So you have one premium brand, which is where you charge the higher prices that cover all your basic bills, needs, retirement etc.
Then, if you wish, you also add a lower cost brand. We do this with Genki English with our program for ultra low income areas, but you could be helping out whoever you choose.
And then if you want to help even more people, that’s where, for me, social media content comes in, for helping all those people who can’t join your classes and programs.
The important thing is to get these in the right order, because if you don’t have your bills paid and housing, food etc. needs met, then it’s really, really hard to help other people at scale.
(Some of the projects I’ve worked on have been millions of dollars to put on & of course the Genki English program itself cost over a million dollars to produce!)
So you need to work on your premium brand, if not first, then at least from the very beginning in tandem with the others.
