I just reached 1.9m views on Tik Tok! Would you like to know how I did it?

UPDATE:  If you’re looking for beginners Tik Tok advice check out my “Beginners Guide on How to Get Students Using Social Media” training or James Wedmore’s  “Digital CEO” training   For this post below I was looking to go a little deeper into how to go viral on Tik Tok. So do keep your questions coming about what you’d most like to learn!

——————————————-

So I just reached 1.9m views on Tik Tok!  Starting from having just 81 followers last month!  And I had 2 more videos do over 100k views!   Would you like to know how I did it?

This past week has been crazy,  in the beginning all the views was luck but then I went on a deep dive, taking courses, asking a lot of experts and I learned sooooo much about Tik Tok that I didn’t even know I didn’t know!!

Things like how to correctly use pins and bios and links (which I was doing completely wrong!)  to some rather ingenious techniques to double or triple the number of views.   ( Plus the mistakes I made on one follow up video that only got 40k views!)

I also read up on case studies of teachers who have done crazy income levels with Tik Tok and even a Genki English teacher who has been getting 100s of 1000s of views!

So I was thinking of making up some training to show you how to do it too.

Would you be interested?

If so, put up a comment on the post here and if we get enough interest I’ll see what I can do!

Plus, so I know what level to do the training at,  let me know…..

…. what is your biggest question about using Tik Tok right now?

It does seem that right now, if you’re looking to get students online, Tik Tok is the best, and easiest, place to get free, organic advertising for your lessons, of course without needing to spend money on ads or do silly dances.

So, let me know in the comments and let’s see what we can do!

( Otherwise I’ll just keep all these hard won “secrets” for myself 😉 )

Be genki,

Richard

I am new to Tik Tok so would love to know more

  2. Flor

I would like to get those views, but I know nothing about the use of tik tok. I would be really interested in knowing the way.

  3. Katerina

Completely new to Tik Tok! An introduction would be great!

  4. Beverley

Totally social media novice. Would love some advice and know how.

  5. Richard Graham

Thank you Annie, glad you like it! What questions do you have about doing this on Tik Tok?

  6. Richard Graham

Hi Katerina, for an introduction just pop into the “Creator Portal” section of the App (or just ask you kids!). Then when you find there are questions you need answering do pop back here and I’ll see if I can help!

  7. Richard Graham

Hi Flor, have a play around on the app and you should be able to figure out the basics. Then when you’ve got questions let me know and it will help me figure out what to include!

  8. Rodina

The hardest part for me is starting. How?
I’m interested and hunger to know your ways. Thank you!

  9. Rebecca Thiede

I’ve actually never even thought of doing Tik-tok -lol! Sometimes it seems like I’ll just end up being a slave to so many social media channels. Where do you find the time??

  10. AJ

I would definitely want to learn.

  11. Richard Graham

Thank you Rodina, and thank you for answering the question too – that really helps!

So to get started, download the app, ask your kids or students how they use it, then each day post a quick 15 second answer to any questions that came up in each days English class (Eg did the kids ask you what a word means or how to say something etc). Once youve got that going come back here and we can talk the strategies to go viral!

  12. Charmaine

Richard, this is amazing! Please, teach us how. Thank you!

  13. Richard Graham

Hi Rebecca, great question! So yeah for Facebook I used to spend 3 days to prepare a whole month of content which is just crazy! On YouTube my friends spend hundreds of dollars just on the graphics for each video. So the cool thing with Tik Tok right now is that you don’t need any of that, it’s just one 15 second video every (or every other) day so it saves a ton of time!! Of course these days aren’t going to last which is why it’s best to jump on now if you can!

  14. Richard Graham

Thank you Thuy Pham and AJ! It’s a pretty broad topic so what specifically would you like to learn about it? (Just so I know what level to do the training at!)

  15. Richard Graham

Thanks for the replies everyone, do keep them coming!

For this training I was looking to go a little deeper into how to go viral on Tik Tok. So do keep your questions coming about what you’d most like to learn!

And If you’re looking for *beginners* advice check out my “Quick Guide on How to Get Students Using Social Media” or James Wedmore’s “Digital CEO” training. They’ll get you started!

  16. Tana Lloyd

I am fairly new to tik tok and would love to know

  17. Richard Graham

Thank you Tana and Ha! What are the biggest questions you have about going viral on Tik Tok? ( Just to help me plan what level to do the training at!). Thanks! 🙂

  18. Julia Rice

I’d be interested. I’ve never done anything with TikTok so I’m a complete beginner. Also VERY technically challenged!

  19. Richard Graham

Thank you Julia! If you’re a beginner, the beginners course is already up for you – check it out here!

And also just keep an eye on your mindset there, if you were going to get on an aeroplane and the pilot considered themselves “technically challenged” what confidence level would you have in them? How could you reframe things?

  20. Amanda

I would love to learn more. Never having ever done a tik tok before!

  21. Richard Graham

    Hi Amanda,

Thank you! This course is going to be a bit more advanced, so first things first, download the Tik Tok App, watch the Beginners Training and then use the ideas there to get started with your first Tik Toks. Once you’ve done that, pop back here and we’ll get you on the road to the advanced stuff!!

  22. Anna

Wow, Congrats! I don’t know about it at all. Can I join your plan? : )

  23. vasia

i know a lot about tiktok and would love to know more

  24. Richard Graham

Hi Vasia, awesome! I think maybe I should be asking you to teach me 🙂 What would you say your top 3 Tik Tok tips would be? And what would you personally love to learn more about in the training?
