New Game: Blowball

Here’s Mido’s game of the week, this might be a fun game for the end of term but only if you have a very clean classroom. πŸ™‚

1. Β Put the kids in two groups.

2. One group lines up on one side of the class, the other lines up on the other side.

3. Each team has a dedicated “blower” andΒ a ping pong ball on the start line at the front of the class.

4 . Put a finish line at the back of the class.

5. Ask the whole class a question.

6. Β The fastest person to answer tells their “blower” to blow once on their ping pong ball to make it move nearer the goal!

7. Repeat from step 5

8. First team to cross the finish line is the winner.

As a bonus you could even try this in the gym.

Ninja Tip: If anyone “accidentally” touches one of the ping pong balls, their ball goes back to the start!

This looks like a lot of fun. One alteration you could make is have the person who answers the question the fastest become the blower temporarily, then they would all have added incentive to answer the questions. Anyway, that’s another game that goes in the ole’ toolbox. Thanks Richard.

I did a similar thing for halloween. Cut out some bat shapes and took some straws, the students had to blow under the bats to ge them to the finish line

How do you decide who is first when many of the students raise their hands (or say the correct answer )at the same time?

Great idea but do agree with some of the comments that it has a catch or two.
LOVE Armstrong’s idea on that incentive, ALL kids will want to blow, so the idea is brilliant!
I also wonder whom to decide for if tons of kids raise their hands at once, which is probably what will happen. It can get a bit difficult to be fair here, especially if they’re yelling out the answers……….which kids tend to do when excited!
