“Random Acts of Kindness” for World Kindness Day

Hello,

It’s World Kindness Day this Friday and over in the Teacher’s group Luigi asked if I had any great games to go with it.

We don’t have anything in the Genki English Curriculum but we do have a fantastic activity in the Genki Self Development Program.

It’s called, quite simply,  “Random Acts of Kindness”

  1. As a class discuss what different kinds of random acts of kindness there are.
  2. Then help the students formulate the most popular ones in English.

Then for the second part of the class.

  1. Put the kids in groups.
  2. They brainstorm 5 random acts of kindness they can each do in the next week.
  3. They present them to the class & then go do them over the next week 🙂

English wise you can use this with the future tenses and “I will …..  ” but the main benefits are all the physical and emotional benefits that come from thinking of different random acts of kindness.  For example they increase happiness, joy and even longevity and they decrease risks of future strokes, heart attacks and other stress related illnesses.

So, on World Kindness Day,  what 5 random acts of kindness are you going to do?

Be genki,

Richard
