It’s much easier to study the poster on the wall at the gym, to learn what push ups and pull ups do for your muscles, than actually doing the exercises! 🙂

And it’s just the same with learning or teaching grammar.   It’s the easy way out.  Your brain always wants the easiest path, it’s quite normal.

So when given a choice of risking potential embarrassment at speaking,  the 100s of hours of speaking practice needed to get fluent and the brain power needed to do it or ….. memorizing a list of grammar rules with your head down on a desk, which option does your brain choose?

Now, we all know that leads to really bad results (how many people do you know who get fluent from high school English classes?)
