Long time VIP members will know that we used to have a thriving, amazing community of teachers over on the VIP Forums.
It used to be my daily source of energy & inspiration and was an amazing community.
You can still of course read all those postsย ( and particular the skits, stories and plays for joining together all the Genki English themes is still really popular!) but many modern browsers simply don’t work well with forums (long story!) so on many devices you can’t actually post anything there anymore ๐
So .. where is the action at nowadays? ย Well, I hate to say it but it is Facebook! ย ย With 28,000 fans and thousands of people watching the live streams the Genki English “Page” ย has become pretty popular.
But that isn’t the same as a community where you can hang out with other cool teachers, share ideas and videos and of course ask me questions about getting the best out of Genki English.
So I asked if anyone would like a Genki English Facebook Group – and everyone said “Yes!!!”
So I made it for you ๐
There are rules of course, ย it’s only for super positive, awesome VIP genki teachers who want to make a difference in their classrooms.
This is going to be exciting and to join, here’s the link, ย there are a few questions to answer before you get let in ( if you’re not cool with being positive and genki then you won’t get in ๐ ) and then check out the pinned video at the top of page to learn the rules of what’s good and what’s not and enjoy!
Be genki,
Richard
P.S. ย Why all the insistence on rules and being positive and cool? ย Well imagine a Japanese Garden, ย it looks beautiful and natural but behind the scenes it takes a LOT of work, effort and energy. ย Without all the time and energy spent it would just get overrun with weeds ( spammers, trolls etc. etc.) ย so that’s why we all have to work to keep it super positive and energetic through a technique called “reframing” ย You’ll see how it works in the group ๐
Dear Richard, thank you for being so enthusiastic and positive. I enjoy the way you talk and explain the key moments of teaching. Many of them I try to use at my lessons and get positive feedback.
