Update: Β This programme has now finished and we have moved to the main Homework Programme.
(Don’t worry I’ll get back to the Africa blog very soon!)
Although the main Homework System has been working great in quite a few countries, I’ve had emails from a few teachers in places that aren’t quite so developed asking if it’s possible to make just the MP3s of the Genki English songs available to students.
I’ve been trying a few experiments and they seem to have gone well, so here is how you can do it!
1) You get permission to sell the mp3s to the students by putting them onto a USB memory stick for them.
2) You charge the regular rate for songs in your country (i.e. whatever iTunes charges where you are!)
3) You keep half the money and send the other half to me as a royalty payment.
As you can see it’s very simple and also an extra income boost for your school. Β Best of all though you can choose exactly which songs you sell to the students, exactlyΒ tailoredΒ to your own curriculum!
You’ll need signed permission from me so you can legally copy the songs, so just send me an email and we’ll get you started!
What do you think? Β Or if you have questions, please ask them in the comments!
P.S. The winner of last month’s comment competition was …..Β Dan. If you’d like to win a Genki English CD of your choice this month, get commenting on the blog, the more you comment the more chance you have of winning!
Richard,
Thanks a lot for the workbooks! These things are awesome. It’s a great way to get the parents involved in their children’s education and an easy way for me to check how much they remember before I even start the class.
I had a ‘parent’s meeting’ last week and offered the USB pack as well as the MP3s (at 200yen each). Unfortunately, I had no takers…but that’s OK. I’ve only been doing this for 4 months now. I’m still building my relationships with the parents. I’m confident that they’ll come around.
Thanks again for all your efforts!
Bob

Well a lot of thanks for the genki english website. I got a lot of ideas of how to make my youngest learn to read the easy and fun way. THANKSSSSS A LOT……
