Hi Richard, I’ve been allowing new students to join every 6 weeks and now find that my longest standing students need to revisit some of the basics in order to accommodate the newcomers! Am I doing this the wrong way around? Should the newcomers just follow on from where the current students are without basic starter subjects i.e. ‘how are you’, ‘what’s your name’ etc Please help! I don’t want to open any new classes but prefer to fill out my current 3 classes by age group instead although the knowledge range differs. Please advise best practice. Thanks in advance
Hi Fiona,
When you add brand new students to an existing class, what you are saying to the parents is “At my school students don’t learn anything. Just look, your child with zero experience can join in with a class of kids who have had many lessons!”
So you never add new children to existing classes.
Instead you tell the parents you will start a new class when you have 8 new students ready to join. You can imagine what the parents all then go and do for you! π
