Mido just sent in this great game to review all the questions you’ve done so far and “Who is it?” ย (as opposed to Whose is it? ๐Ÿ™‚ )

1. ย One student comes to the front, closes their eyes and faces the board.

monkeyfront

2. ย The teacher asks an English question and points to one of the other students in the class.

3. ย This student has to answer but …. they have to disguise their voice!

4. Everyone asks “Who is it?” and the person at the front has to guess who gave the answer!

5. If they get it right they get a point, can stay at the board and repeat the game from step 2.

6. If they get it wrong they are out and someone new comes to the front!

The trick is to keep the rhythm going and have the kids answer quickly, and just watch the tension rise as the points go up!

What do you think? ย Do let us know in the comments!

P.S. There are more of Mido’s great games in the VIP Games section.

Hi, I am in a small town called Zhengding, in Hebei Province, West of Beijing. I think i can be in Beijing in about 2 hours by train.
June will complete my first year as a TEFL Teacher, I have enjoyed your system and think it is MARVELOUS, only held back from using it as my students ages range from about 16 to 19. I know you say it is good for any age group but I have a hard time accepting that. It is possible that i might teach in Thailand in the new school year in one of the Public schools and I understand they already use your system.
In any event I had been hoping that one day you might come to a part of the world that would enable me to attend your workshop.
I would like to attend and help if i can.

    Hi Mordechai,

Keep an eye on the blog for updates to the China dates – it would be great to see you there!

With regards the 16 to 19 year olds, if you can see Youtube, have a look at the comments on the Genki songs/animations – the best ones come from 13 to 24 year olds!

Yep, Thailand is using Genki English and I’ve got my first Thai workshop of the year tomorrow!!

Hi, Richard , really interested in Beijing , would love to attend/help, but something for you to consider : here esl teaching is the busiest on the weekends, it would be very difficult for me to get away Saturday or Sunday, but can work on weekdays – pls keep us posted … And really looking forward to meeting you

I’m out here in Shanghai, will be glad to give you a hand.
The teaching tips, songs, chant packages and activities have always been good.
I find your approach to be quite useable in lower as well as higher grades, just have to personalize it and use it at the right time.

    Hi, Richard!

We were planning to go to Xi an to attend your training there. I saw your post here, and Beijing is an hour or so away from where we are, Shijiazhuang City. We specialize in Kindergarten English Language Education.

Ive been using some of your songs and techniques and sharing to my colleagues for some years now. Kids love it! We want to learn more from you first hand. We are also planning to use Genki in teaching primary students here. What do you think?

Enjoy your time there in Thailand. Hope be seeing you soon in Beijing.

Aries, I live in Zhengding, about 20 minutes taxi ride from your city. I will be going to your city in the morning to process my foreign experts permit.
I teach in Hebei Zhengding middle school. about 16 to 19 year olds, but i think all my sudents are grade 1, 16 year olds. Perhaps i will see you at Richards workshop.

I live in Beijing and use Genki English everyday. I have a student that is reading, because of Genki phonics.

I’m not sure when I will go visit family, but I live here and would be happy to meet up. Let me know the details when they crystallize. Cheers.

    Hi Richard!
I live in Shanghai and would be really interested in attending one of your workshops. I teach in a kindergarten and have no choice but to use their books and materials. But I read your posts and games anyways to enrich myself!
    See you in June!

    Hello!

I live in shanghai and I have been using Genki for about a year in my private tutorings and currently with my 2 1/2 year old class at the English Academy I work for.

Like Ally mentioned before, in Shanghai too the weekends are the busiest for teaching english. If the workshop is on the weekend, evening would be good or an afternoon-evening during the week, that would be great!

Let me know if I can help you with anything to set up the workshop.

    Hi Richard,
When are you planning on coming to south of China like Guangzhou? I use Genki everyday to teach grades 3-4 in a primary school. The kids love it! I think it works really well with large groups. If you go to Shanghai, I would try to make it out there.

wow, very nice game! I will let my class play this game this weekend. Thanks alot for posting. I think I would like to attend your workshop one day.

I find this a great game because the children have fun but being seated theyt don’t get too rowdy, aggressive or overly competitive. With lots of games that are fun, unfortunately the kids become
hyperactive and it is very difficult to settle them down. I think Richard is very lucky because it is evident that he has lots and lots of energy… the Genki method is incredibly innovative and FUN!!
