Written lesson plans don’t really give the whole picture, never mind all those little extra tricks that make it work in practice. So over the last 20 years some amazing teachers have been filming the key parts of their lessons and sharing them with the Genki English community. They’re all now on the lesson plans pages along with more in depth videos showing the theory and reasoning behind each lesson as well as the “secret” tips and tricks that make all the difference!

Bonus 3: 🔖 To get the parents on board…
A great result comes about with a win, win, win between the teacher, the students and the parents. You need all 3 on board with what you want to do and where you want to go to get the success you see others having with Genki English. Whilst some other programs or franchises force you to sell dozens of books and CDs to parents, instead we keep that part optional. If you want to re-sell the Genki English software to parents, you can do and get paid for it, but it’s not compulsory as it’s not for everyone. But you still do need something for the parents to see the progress everyone is making. So over the years we’ve amassed a huge collection of printables, workbooks, games and crafts that you can print out for all your students and let the parents follow on and support at home with what you are teaching in class.
Value: Imagine having to come up with, design and then test 100s and 100s of worksheets! Just in the time alone it would cost way more than $299!
Bonus 4: 📚 You need the reading too!
Genki English is a speaking & confidence program. It’s probably the best speaking and confidence program in the world. But at some point the students probably will need to learn how to read 🙂 We’ve studied and researched this in so many countries and by far the best way to learn reading is with the method called “phonics.” The problem is that most phonics material either isn’t really phonics (e.g. most of the material on Youtube), is designed for native speaker kids (like the majority of the UK based programs) or needs a whole bunch of crazy printables which inevitably get left behind or mixed up right before lessons! So we needed a) an awesome program that is designed for non-native speakers and b) I wanted each lesson to be just one piece of A4 paper. Nothing to lose, just one piece of paper. And after many, many years of rigorous testing and many, many late nights writing away in Africa, Europe and Asia, Genki Phonics was born.
