I had this idea today of using the Genki English skeleton, from theย Trick or Treat song, for some basic body parts. So I’ve made some mini cards up for you.
What do you think?
I have a feeling there might be a song in here somewhere…???
UPDATE: I just remembered where I got this idea from, the “Pesky Hound” game from theย Halloween Ideas page!
Great idea! For little ones it might be a big scary in the beginning, but I’m sure you could take that aspect away.
Older kids would probably really get into it, and I think it’s a great way to introduce bodyparts in a new way.
It would be great though if there was a “body” in there as well, because than the kids could cut parts out and put together their own skeleton.
Oh, wait~ maybe that could be a worksheet?
Actually a song for this would be great. I introduced the doctor doctor song in school last year, but as those lessons are irregular and the song has really lots in it, though they had great fun, they didn’t remember .
Also Japanese Body part names are pretty different from the Japanese so with the common “GE 8 words” in one lesson it’s getting tough.
So, please please let the song come out, and if possible don’t dedicate it to Halloween, so at it can be a runner through the year.
Yeah, our school kids were crazy about the Pesky Hound game last year. I did it with 1st to 6th graders and it was great. I miss doing it!
And I agree with Margit about the song.
I really love this! I’m wondering if i can get away with doing a morbid-halloween shopping game with these (as that’s the language i need to go over soon!). give everybody a set of cards the same, then let them bargain for pieces – the first full skeleton made within budget wins! Maybe, maybe not.
How did I miss that game? so cool!!! I like the idea of using ‘bones’ during the school year and not just at Halloween too.
It’s a great idea!
I agree with Margit that the body part should be included (spinal cord bones). Kids love manual work so to build a skeleton with them would be great…and I’ve got another idea..how about playng the fishing game with the skeleton or a modification of the apple bobbing…skeleton bobbing!

These are great. I’m sure there’ll be lots of good ways to use them.
I agree with the others that a body would be good. It would create more game possibilities.
And a new song is always welcome!
Hey, Julian-k – the gruesome bargaining game sounds fun – go for it!
