It’s Star Wars Day today, ย and with all the excitement of Episode 7 (plus this week’s Big Bang Theory!) ย here’s just a few of the many, many ways Star Wars has influenced Genki English ….
- Star Wars Light Saber Battle Game – my best game for practising directions and left & right.
- Teaching Teenagers – it’s all about Darth Vader.
- What does Genki mean? ย – well the “ki” is what from Star Wars?
And not quite Star Wars but …
- Mr Miyagi School of Englishย – wax on, wax off.
- Indiana Jones Game – great for phonics, or anything with flashcards
- Indiana Jones & The Secret Code ย – great for alphabet, or Indy related words!
And finally if you’re not into Star Wars ( shame on you! ๐ ) ย …
Have a great day whatever you are doing!
I just saw the ‘No Comments :(‘ sad face so here’s a little comment to (hopefully) cheer you up! ๐
Just to say thanks for the tips on teaching teenagers because I think they apply to some 10-year-olds, too. One teacher said they seem to spend too much time at home watching cartoons or playing computer games so I think if I find out what each individual likes to do in their free time I can tailor the lesson to suit them all at least some of the time! I definitely need to get some feedback from them. I like talking about food as well :)) although as a teenager it was mainly music and pop-singers!
Thank you! I think everyone else is out enjoying the bank holidays!!
(Now, what were we saying about the *kids* spending too much time on the computers??? ๐ )
