This is just crazy!  The new ChatGPT-4O Voice Mode doing revision for the English GCSE exam!

Hopefully when you see this you’ll go “Wow – that is going to help soooo many students!”

But if you find yourself feeling “Well, there goes my job!” ….

Remember most English teachers don’t speak English & most English teaching is still incredibly ineffective.

So when it comes to A.I. taking jobs you are way safer than the majority of English teachers.

But there will be changes.

The way to navigate it is to be the best at what you do & learn how to best present what you do to the world.

200 years ago everyone was a farmer, but only the best prepared (financially & skills wise and luck!) survived.

It’s the same with cameras replacing family portrait painters.

But then again, Taylor Swift sold more vinyl than anyone else last year, even though her music is all free on Spotify!

So if you love being an English teacher, learn everything you can about the job, get the best materials, & learn everything you can about the financial side of things so you’ll a) have the financial buffer to survive what ever comes along & b) let people know that you offer something that the A.I.s & 1000s of other teachers can’t!
