I’d like sooooo many foods game

Mido’s got another really simple no-prep game that works a treat .  And it works especially well with the new Food Updates!

1. Write up today’s structure on the board e.g. I’d like some …

2. The first kid says the structure plus one item e.g. I’d like some cheese, please.

3. The next kid adds something else to the list e.g. I like some cheese and rice, please.

4. Keep going round the class – at least twice so everyone has to remember everything!

Can they get round the whole class twice without forgetting anything?

You can of course use it for other themes, such as

Where do you live? I  live near the …. and the …. ,

Where are you from? I’m from …. and …. and ….

How are you? I’m …. and I’m …. and I’m ….

I’m a superhero.  I can …. and … and ….

etc. etc.

Or you can go for the regular version with the new food cards!

    Hi there!

I loved the idea of this game! Simple and it sounds very effective! 🙂 It’s similar to another game with the alphabet (I believe you’ve certainly heard of it!), in which a student starts with the 1st letter of the alphabet and the others go on with the following letters, adding items to the list, following the alphabet (“I went to the supermarket and bought an Apple.” –> “I went to the supermarket and bought an Apple and a Banana.” and so on). It can also be played with any topic, but this game is much easier, because you can say any word you have been learning and are not restringed to the letters of the alphabet (which, for younger kids, is always difficult).

So thanks a lot for the tip! 🙂

    Keep up the great job!

Your “I like so many foods” game is a familiar one to me. I used it with the younger kids in music class. We were writing songs in the format, “My mother sent me to the store and this is what she sent me for…” simple rhythms (quarters and eighths) 3 pitches (lsm). Sometimes I wrote them down and printed them up so we could get a second day out of the same lesson.

    Kids do like food, somehow.
