Kamila & Margit have been at it again!
First Kamila’s kids, via Youtube, Β sent this recipe, in English, Β for Polish soup:
To which Margit’s kids watched the video in Japan and made the soup themselves!
(Margit, you have to stop talking so much in class! π )
Then…. Margit’s kids took a Japanese curry recipe and made a video ….
(You’ve got to love the imagination here!)
And Kamila’s kids in Poland made it!
Now seriously, how amazing is that!!
I tell you if you’re not doing these kinds of projects in class, your kids are seriously missing out!
They’re easy, free and as you can see are so wonderful for the kids!
I’ve written up some guidelines and tips here, and Margit has blogged her experience here.
And we’re here on the blog to answer any questions you might have in the comments.
What are you waiting for – let’s get cooking!! π
Be genki,
Richard
P.S. Β The winner of last month’s blog comment competition was …. Micki!Β If you’d like the chance to win a Genki English CD download of your choice (maybe the vol. 14???) then get commenting on the blog now, the more comments you make, the more chance you have to win!
What a great idea! I take the kids shopping at the grocers’ and made snacks, but never reb cooking! Btw, kids also love going grocery shopping. I write a shopping list, they try to read it and rush to find the food!
My students really enjoyed ‘selling’ plastic fruit and veg at a pretend grocer’s shop. I’m sure they’d enjoy cooking real food, too, if they could do that in the classroom! Food is certainly a favourite topic with them. Thanks for sharing these nice videos!
For anyone teaching older students, check out the Jamie Oliver’s live cooking lesson this Friday, May 16th on TES.
The site provides all the free teaching resources youβll need to cook live with chef Jamie Oliver in the worldβs biggest ever cooking lesson for Food Revolution Day.
He’s going to be cooking a Rainbow Salad Wrap.

Nice, thanks a lot, I did something similar the last year with singing songs and children loved it. π
