OK, first of all here are the VIP members funky new Mini Cards…
First off we have the uber cute ย “Where is the spider?” – be careful, you know you’re not getting these back after class!
And then “Pirates with the coloured beards”
And the one you’ve been waiting for …….. ย “Who is in the haunted house?” – you can also ask Where is the spider? with these too!
What do you think? Pretty cool eh?
Also be sure to stop by theย VIP members’ forum and say hello, we’ve got a great thread of games to use with vol. 12 going.
And thanks to everyone who has bought the vol. 12, you’ve been great!
Offer Closes at 23:59 Tonight
UPDATE: This offer has now finished. ย Thank you to everyone who participated and you can still find the vol. 12 on at the regular price here. (And still worth every penny!)
If you haven’t already got your copy, theย price increases at 11:59 PM tonight, so pop over to the vol. 12 page and get yourself some of the magic! Well, unless you’d like to pay more tomorrow, I’m quite happy either way ย ๐
Save $50
Quite a few people also picked up on my comment about the mainย Download Pack going up to $299 soon (it’s currently on at $229)
I plan on doing that when I incorporate vol. 12 into the package. ย Obviously I want to do it as soon as I can, but I’ve got a few technical things to sort out first (not least of which is that the pack will come out to be 2 GB in size.)
So if you want to save money, I’d recommend getting the Download Pack today and then taking up the vol. 12 whilst the offer price is on.ย You’ll save yourself $50 which is never a bad thing.
Getting your school to pay
If any of you are having trouble getting your schools to pay for for the full pack, I know some teachers in Singapore have been, then do let me know how I can help.
For example in Japan we can take telephone orders in Japanese and prepare Japanese paperwork (email me if you want the details).
Obviously it’s really nice when your school pays. ย So is there anything I could do to help where you are?
OK, enjoy your vol. 12 or get your order in before midnight, you’re going to love it!
Be genki,
Richard
P.S. Whichย printablesย would you like me to start work on next? ย Requests in the comments please.
SUUUUUPer Cute,
requests, right now only for UNO games:
Characters+ beards:
“Scarecrow’s, Monster’s, Aigo’s, Pirate’s beard is blue, pink, gret, red”
haunted house+ characters:
“Scarecrow, Skeleton, Mummy, Monster is in the pink house, blue house…
vol. 12 is fantastic and has many songs that I think will be popular with 5th and 6th graders. Songs like, “Let’s Decorate the Christmas Tree” can be used as a listening task if you can’t get your older kids to sing.
One question Richard, what happened to the soccer ball on the Christmas tree? As I recall from the demo you posted last year there was a soccer ball in the song, my 8 year old son thought that was hilarious.
I love the pictures! So very cute and just enough humor to reach all age ranges.
As for worksheets, how about a B&W worksheet with different GE characters with beards. The teacher can review colors as students listen and color the beards. (Baby Monkey’s beard is black) It will allow the teacher to pick and choose the language that would work with their students.
This is a game that I have been wanting to try. It’s Clue Jr.
http://boardgames.lovetoknow.com/Clue_Jr._Game_Instructions
Any chance we can have a GE version? It can be used with time, verbs (eating, drinking) pets, food, professions, etc.
Probably the easiest would be to have a board game the rooms and squares that lead up to the room. and a clue sheet for student to help keep track.
Then teachers could pick and match the mini cards they want to use in the game.
gumby,
I love the idea of a Genki English board game and this game really sounds fun.
Reading the instructions carefully it sounds as if it is really easy to create and we wouldn’t need any special material.
Well, a house template would be great of course and a “detective pad” would make it look more professional and fun for the kids.
But otherwise just draw a house, put the room cards into the house whichever order you would like.
Put a GE character minicard and a GE pet card into each room (under each room card, so nobody can see them.
and then play (with a dice) as described.
I’ll try this next week. Thanks for the brilliant idea.
@Gumby & Margit: Looks like I might have to get Gaz in on this!
@Kobekid: It wasn’t actually a soccer ball…. watch the song on the software and you’ll see!!!! ๐
Oh, I have one request.
Kids love to color the rooms of the house. But the b&w cards are small. Could I have these room cards in b&w in A4 size? That would be great!!!
SO CUTE!
Agree with Margit on all counts. My request the haunted house in A4 black and white
Thanks
Nena
@Richard yeah I remember now, I watched it with some teachers today. But a soccer ball would have been funny, so outrageous that the kids would know it didn’t belong right away. I’m going to do a survey and see how many of my kids think turkey could be used to decorate a Xmas tree. I’ll bet more than a few might fall for it.
Another day off thanks to the weather. Hope all Japan based GE folks made it through safely.
You should see it with little kids, they roll about on the floor laughing at it (you can’t get anything else done all day!) but then …… they turn round and say “Oooo, that’s a good idea, can we have a turkey on our tree!”
Looks like we might have started a whole new tradition!!!
Not the individual rooms yet but Gaz has done this Haunted House colouring in sheet!

@Gumby: Does Clue work out similar to the game we have for the old rooms of the house? http://genkienglish.net/rooms.htm
@Margit: Oh no, you shouldn’t have given the Gaz the idea of putting beards on the monsters and skeletons. He just sent me the first drafts of the game and I just burst out laughing in the middle of Starbucks!!! Your kids are going to love them!
Yes, the clue game is the same, but with a boardgame it could be done in smaller classes.
I know that you must inundated with requests, but could I ask for a B&W handout of the 3 different monsters?
Enjoy!
Now these are GOOD!
How lucky to have a national holiday and much time to buy ink, get set and go!
THANK YOU! These are great. You get some sleep, Richard!
