I’m on tour & emails a little slower!

CIMG2204Hi everyone,

As you may have seen from the schedule page I’m currently on tour, heading to Ubon Ratchathani,  Chiangmai, Nakhon Nayok, Trang, Kohn Kaen,  Surat Thani (this one is open to the public!),  then Perth in Australia & Xi’an in China.

So this does mean I’m going to be a little slower than usual replying to emails over the next 2 months.

I will still reply to every single email I get, I often spend many hours each day doing so,  but of course with having so many tour dates, travel and dodgy internet access (especially in Perth 😉 ) I won’t be as speedy as usual.

(Plus I’m sure you want me to spend any free time cracking on with vol. 13 🙂 )

As always, quick to the point questions get answered first.  (And nice words about how Genki English is so wonderful always help too 🙂 )  And you can always ask questions of each other in the VIP forum.

And of course all the Teacher’s Set orders are all automated and have their own technical support.

I’ve also scheduled several cool blog posts, many featuring often asked questions, so there will be plenty there and I’ll try and keep you up to date on my travels whenever I can!  And please do keep up your comments on the blog, I love to read them.

Thanks again for all your awesome support, I’m very much looking forward to meeting many of you in the coming weeks and I’m totally thrilled to see how the 800,000 Genki English tablets are helping some of the poorest kids in Asia.

And last time I was there I got asked to have lunch with the Prime Minister!

Be genki,

Richard

P.S.  I’ve just realised I’ve got the weekend off 26th/27th April in Chiang Mai, never been there before so if anyone is up for a coffee or beer and a chat do get in touch!

P.P.S.  Yes I will be learning some of the languages of the countries I visit.  First up is Thailand.  I only have 3 weeks, so not enough time to get fluent, but I’ve stocked my iphone up with learning Thai audiobooks.  They don’t have Michel Thomas in Thai (always my first choice) so to play as I go to sleep I got  “Thai for you” &  “Rhythms Easy Thai” (sooo cheesy it might be cool!) and the main event being the 16 hour (!) Thai Pimsleur course. Plus GenkiThai.com of course! 🙂  If you have any more suggestions please do put them in the comments.   Wish me luck!

Richard Graham

    Hi Richard!

I wish you good luck and success in Thailand! And I wish you to get asked to have lunch with the King of Thailand. 🙂 As I’ve just read he’s a very progressive person.

And I’d like to follow your example and try to learn a new foreigh language. I’d like to place myself into the situation in which my students get when they start to learn English. I think it’s very useful for every teacher to try learners’ shoes sometimes. 🙂

Great You’re in Thailand. Any suggestion on who to contact to request an invitation to you’re even in Nakhon Nayok? It isn’t at Sida Resort just outside the National Park there is it?

    Hi Matthew,

The workshops are organised by the Office of The Basic Education Commission of the Ministry of Education. So the best person to ask is either you school’s head teacher or the district education office. I think all the places are assigned, but you might be able to sneak in a special invite! Not sure of the location yet, hopefully I’ll get those tomorrow!

    hei, Richard!
A song about the weather. may be it`ll be interesting for you.
-Look thru the window ( pretend that you are looking thru the window)
    -What can you see?
_ It`s sunny ( windy, frosty, snowy, etc.) It`s good for me( thumb up or down). The melody may be differnt ( we sing it as rap) angela
