New Game: Speed Wrapper!

The Turn & Circle game was one of my favourite games over the Summer, so here’s a nice Christmas version and all you need is a big bag of bows! (Dollar Stores/100 yen stores are great for these!)

1. Put up lots of minicards on the board ( at least 2 of each.)

2. Two kids come to the front, with their backs to the board, and you give each kid several bows/ribbons.

3. ย Everyone in the class shouts out today’s question e.g. What can you see? ย is good for the Genki Christmas Wordsย or of course What would you like for Christmas?

4. ย You choose one answer. Remember to make it dramatic. ๐Ÿ™‚

5. As soon as you’ve said it the two kids at the front have to spin round and “speed wrap” the right words by slapping their bow(s) on them!

6. Plus of course they have to shout out the word or phrase in great English too. ๐Ÿ™‚

7. Keep going till all the presents are wrapped!

I really want to play these games that use the Genki minicards. I would love if the curriculum I HAD to teach had minicards of the words so I could play with those, too. Alas, I only have ONE copy of A4 flashcards from the material we need to teach. Someday I’ll learn how to do something about it, hah.

Thanks for the idea to play the game with bows. I like the game very much , but we play it a little bit differently. When the students standing at the board hear the phrase (for ex. I’d like …) they have to take the card. The flashcards I use are similar but different in colours and in size. When the cards have been collected the kids have to say what they have got (I’ve got a small pink hat/ I’ve got a large green hat)
