(Flossy in Austria shows us the workbooks she makes for her students.)
With the new school term starting lots of teachers are looking to make workbooks for their students.
One of the big features of Genki English is that it’s very easy to make your own customised books to focus exactly on the skills you want to cover.
But it also means it can be tough deciding which ones to include! π
So hopefully here’s a little help …
Top 5 Workbook Pages
1. For starters I would certainly go with the new workbook for each lesson.
This has everything all nicely summed up in one page.
2. Then a little light relief can be had with the islands, spaghetti or snakes and ladders games.
3. If the parents are wanting to see some writing, you could also include the Genki Phonics workbook pages (they are part way down the page, under the 2nd video –Β parents do like these, just make sure they don’t start reading them as “ay, bee, see” with their kids!)
4. The Mini Cards are also great to include because the kids can play the games with the parents (again parents like this because they can *hear* how good their kids are!)
5. Eventhough the new workbooks have a “mini imagination worksheet” for each theme, aΒ lot of teachers really love the imagination worksheets too, they are fantastic for creativity and of course developing imagination!
These make very nice workbooks that the parents *love* to show off to friends!
If you’re a VIP member you can print everything out right now, and if you’re not a VIP member yet, get yourself a Genki English Teacher’s Set (I’d go for the dowload version) and you’ll be joining us straight away.
Enjoy!
P.S. Β If you’re lucky enough to have a modern classroom, check out theΒ Digital Textbooks.Β The Teacher’s Set gets you started if you have a digital whiteboard, to use in a computer room check out the site license, or you can even use them for homework – just don’t gloat too much about all the time you’re saving on printing, binding and laminating!
Wow, what a great idea! I used to look for black and white pictures of the vocabulary we were learning, so the kids could color them in at home because I wasn’t aware that we could use your wonderful pictures, Richard!
But this is fantastic, as now, I don’t have any extra work with it and I like the idea to have the lyrics and an excercise as well as a little imagination homework all on one page! Thanks a million! This makes life a lot easier!
Thanks again for a wonderful idea!
I thought your ideas of teachings are very well organized and they tell the students ,especially children, about the culture.
If I am allowed to comment one thing,I would rather let my students draw picture by themselves after taking good care of their habits.
I think you teach the common sense in such a smart way and it is good to educate kids with games such as guessing or hind and seek.
When I was a kid, I used to play all around the house and found good materials to sew ,draw ,or making original plays with my sisters(when guests came for dinner).
But I realized that I had been educated in a similar ways partially appearing in your teaching materials at
elementary schools.
I like baby monkeys.
